Over twenty students from across the country, took part in the second, bi-monthly SAMBO sqaud training session at The Centre of Excellence in Sittingbourne, with BSF National Coach, John Clarke. The two hour session consisted of fitness and ground work fighting, followed by techniques with help from Oleg Sibilev and Colin Carrott and ended with competition practice.
This course is free of charge to BSF affiliated member clubs and saw all styles of martial arts competing and training together. Judo, BJJ, free style wrestlers and samboists were all represented. With the British Sambo Championships being held on the 21st. April this year, this was a fantastic chance for every-one to get in some valuable last minute practice.
This was also an opportunity for coaches to re-validate their BSF recognised qualifications, with Ryan Sylvester and Francesca Aspey from Spifire in Folkestone and David Chastell from Sukata, Hertfordshire doing just that.
Look out for details of the next training session in June.
